## What is Passtiq

Passtiq is a Shopify embedded app built by Lumine. It helps fashion, textile, and footwear Shopify merchants comply with EU Digital Product Passport requirements ahead of the 2027 deadline set by the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR, Regulation 2024/1781).

The app syncs products from a merchant's Shopify catalog, guides them through 7 required DPP sections, and publishes a hosted public passport page with a downloadable QR code.

## EU ESPR DPP Deadline

The EU ESPR (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781) entered into force in July 2024. Digital Product Passports for textiles and garments are mandatory by **July 2027**. Batteries had an earlier deadline: February 2027. Fashion and footwear brands selling to EU consumers must comply.

## 7 DPP Sections (per ESPR)

1. **Manufacturer info** - Company name, address, registration numbers, EU representative details
2. **Materials (fiber composition)** - Full breakdown of materials and percentages (e.g., 82% merino wool, 18% nylon)
3. **Manufacturing** - Country of origin, production facility
4. **Care instructions** - Washing, drying, ironing guidance
5. **End-of-life** - Recycling instructions, disassembly guidance
6. **Substances** - REACH declaration, hazardous substances disclosure
7. **Sustainability** - Carbon footprint, lifecycle emissions data
